Daft Punk is was playing at my house
(eat my shorts, the “your only chance to see it” verge) (UPDATE: Videos sind alle offline.)
Rolling Stone: Daft Punk to Host One-Time-Only Stream of 1997 Helmetless Show
The livestream will [took] place on Twitch, where Daft Punk [shared] footage from their Dec. 12, 1997 show at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles. The gig came at the tail end of the duo’s “Daftendirektour” world tour in support of Homework, with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter playing the entire set without their signature helmets.
Meanwhile, the deluxe edition of Homework arriving today will feature a slew of remixes, nine of which were previously unavailable on streaming services. The new-to-DSP remixes are pretty much all alternate versions of the Homework classic, “Around the World,” including versions by DJ Sneak, house legend Todd Terry (“Tee’s Frozen Sun Mix”), and the American garage house duo Kenlou. The deluxe edition also includes remixes of “Revolution 909,” “Burnin’,” and “Teachers.”
On top of the deluxe edition of Homework, Daft Punk will be reissuing the album — as well as their live LP, Alive ’97 — on vinyl.
Charlie Brooker made a Game for Netflix called “Cat Burglar”, an interactive cartoon about a cat breaking into a museum and ofcourse it’s full of violence. Here’s the trailer, here’s a behind-the-scenes-clip. I’m not sure if I ever give it a try, these interactive movie things still look very gimmicky to me.
You dig the sunshine, standing in the bright lights, facing the warmth of the sun in spring after a cold dark pandemic winter, enjoying the positivity and happiness of life and all of that? Well, I hope that’s working for you. I still prefer lurking in the dark, hammering away on a keyboard, rejecting the good bright shit outside: “exposure to sunlight was associated with happiness but the association was significantly weaker among more intelligent individuals”. Lord praise the shunned cellar dwellers.
Cats hate it when you wear their face. Don’t wear the face of your cat, doofus! And speaking of darkness: The best cats are still the Black Metal Cats, this one in particular: “My hatred is a river which sweeps away the vermin.”
If you like stalking, here’s a cool artwork in which “is trying to show visitors a realtime crime with the help of realtime police data and open surveillance cameras and turns visitors into active observers. Using the location of the latest call, the closest live surveillance cameras are showed, mixing between public and open cameras. Below each live stream you a small screen is included showing the distance between the location of the camera and the location where the police is going to. On the right, 2 screens show a map and more details about the calls including a reason and date/time. The map is showing the police location and the locations of the 10 closest cameras. The audio visitors hear the live police radio in Seattle, achieved with the help of a physical police scanner in Seattle.”
Excellent nerdery: “I created a functioning Turing Machine using Notepad++ and its Find/Replace regular expression engine. Take a look at busybeaver.txt
in Notepad++ or (almost) any other text editor with a regex find/replace option.”
We have the clearest view on the ass of an exoplanet: A “hot Jupiter’s” dark side is revealed in detail for first time. “The planet’s night side likely hosts iron clouds, titanium rain, and winds that dwarf Earth’s jetstream.” Just like my ass.
“Mastering chess, sports, second languages and playing an instrument as a child does not translate to academic achievement” which surely says more about academic achievements than about chess, sports, second languages or mastering an instrument. Also, this: “Mafia members who go to college become more effective criminals. Police records show, Mafiosos who went to college earned 8% more per year, even higher for those running complex crimes.”
Torah: The Original Blockchain: “Take part in the first Sefer Torah created via blockchain technology using NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Each Parsha will be represented by an NFT minted on the Ethereum blockchain, accompanied with beautiful artwork to represent the various narratives of the Torah.” Okay!
