I think the biggest mistake about Rebel Moon is the "This is Netflix's Star Wars" marketing. It puts your expectations on the wrong track. A better comparison would be "300 in space". If you watch it as a ridiculously over-stylized painting of a future-ancient battle, it just works. Loved it.
The beginning was actually OK until they leave the village and all of a sudden no one actually does anything logical or motivated by any sort of reason and nothing matters at all
The beginning was a slimy romanticization of rural life we know too well from certain political propaganda, but i didnt want to throw that at Snyders untalented head too, at least for now. Safe best for RM2 ;)

Honestly haven't tried to watch it yet, but may there be more than one way of directing movies and telling atories?
Sure, but Snyder uses story to glue together "awesome" images, and that is not the same as telling a Story.
